Concert Patron Information

So you're coming to a show at the Hordern - and we want you to have a great time.  Whether you're a first timer or an experienced gigger, here are things you need to know for your enjoyment, safety and comfort:

  • You must have a valid ticket to gain entry
  • Treat your ticket like cash!
  • Your ticket will be read by a scanner at the entry point, so try and make sure it is in good condition
  • If you've purchased an ezyTicket, simply follow the instructions on your ticket
  • Ticket purchases/collections are available from 5.30pm (on the concert day only) at the box office located adjacent to the Hordern Pavilion 
  • Security procedures are in effect at all events. Security personnel may request to search of your person and/or property. 
  • Please be aware that you are subject to video monitoring
  • You will be required to cloak any items that are large and bulky.
  • A cloakroom is available at all concerts for patrons to secure bags and coats etc for a small fee
  • We recommend that any patrons under the age of 16 are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst in the venue.
  • Bags or personal items should not be left unattended. Please report suspicious items to management.
  • Appropriate and safe footwear must be worn at all times
  • Community standards of behaviour are expected and persons deemed by management to be behaving in a dangerous or unacceptable manner will be refused admission or removed from the premises
  • Activities such as 'stage diving' and 'moshing' are strictly prohibited
  • General admission audiences may cause recreational risk. You must assess your own risk and take responsibility for your own safety.
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the venue
  • We adhere to Responsible Services of Alcohol and Harm Minimisation practices in relation to alcohol sales
  • We are prohibited by law to serve liquor to intoxicated persons or persons under the age of 18

Patrons are not permitted to bring the following items on to the premises:

  • Alcoholic refreshments, illicit drugs, drink containers, glass bottles, metal containers or cans, laser pointers, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, bicycles, umbrellas, weapons, fireworks, studded clothing and accessories, animals (except for authorised guide dogs/companion dogs) and any other items deemed by management to be dangerous or capable of causing a public nuisance
  • We reserve the right to confiscate any of the aforementioned items from any patron wishing to enter the venues, or already in the venues
  • Professional Cameras and all other forms of recording devices are not premitted inside the venues 

During certain events at the venues you may experience the following:

  • Periods of darkness
  • Bright lighting
  • Strobe, laser and/or flashing lights
  • High audio levels
  • Sudden changes in sounds and light levels
  • Variations in temperature and/or other environmental factors
  • Theatrical effects including, but not limited to, smoke, fog & pyrotechnics
  • Close proximity to other patrons
  • Crowd dynamics including, but not limited to, dancing and other forms of crowd movement
  • Performances that may include explicit language and/or socially unconventional presentations or activities;

If you feel that you may be effected in any way by any aspects of an event, please check with management prior to entering the premises.

  • The right of admission is reserved
  • We reserve the right not to issue pass outs
  • The right is reserved to add, withdraw or substitute artists and/or to vary advertised programs, seating arrangements and audience capacity
  • During certain events latecomers may not be given access until a suitable break in perfomance
  • The Hordern Pavilion is equiped with 'flip up' seating. Please check seat is in the down position before sitting
  • A person entering our venue may be photographed, filmed, taped and/or subject to monitoring by close circuit television and it is deemed that a person by entering our venue agrees and consents to venue management or third parties appointed by venue management photographing, filming or taping. Venue management or third parties appointed by venue management can broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film recordings or images without compensation. Venue management, third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to the subject for its use in any way.
